"Reggie" was a "dump dog" in better terms. His carer was on a job site 12 mths ago and saw Reggie in shocking condition (skinny, riddled with fleas, hair missing etc..) tied to a tree in the hot sun with no water. Whilst he was working at this house he interacted with the "Reggie", which a few weeks later ended in the owners asking if he wanted him.  They took "Reggie" on with the intention he was short term and were happy to get him into shape for re-homing. 12mths on and he is in fabulous condition and I would like to find him a forever home.

His foster carers are glad that they have been able to have the opportunity to rescue Reggie and he has come along way in a short period of time.

From what they can gather his previous owners did not interact with him much and he was just left in the back yard. There is the possibility that he was abused/roughed up a bit as well. When he came to them he didn't even know how to play with a tennis ball.

Reggie will be 2 in March, he's been desexed, microchipped, C5 vacination and yearly heartworm are up to date, wormed/flea treatment with advocate and he has been to basic obedience training.

It is very important to his carers that they be able to meet any prospective owners for Reggie, as they love him dearly but cannot keep him. So potential owners will need to either be in QLD or be able to travel to meet Reggie and his carers.

REGGIE IN QUEENSLAND

His Carers said “He has the funniest personality and has really come out of his shell especially in the last 6 months. He is still very much in that puppy stage and can be very cheeky. He is also stubborn and likes to push the boundaries around the house. He hasn't had a lot of interaction with other dogs however is very gentle with our other dog who is quite old. He is also very curious about our cat, they still haven't found a happy medium, I think its a love hate thing haha. I would suggest a home without cats. For a dogue he is very active, currently we walk every day and he loves it. I have trouble putting on sneakers without him jumping around in circles its quite hilarious to watch.

We hydrobath him fortnightly with Maleseb. When Reggie came here his coat was in a shocking condition (possible flea irritation & allergies on his feet, back, face and torso) so we don't risk it and since using Malaseb his coat has come back thick and we've had no trouble with irritations. Reggie also gets an ear infection which again I think stems from his poor environment with his previous owners. We use Epi-Optic once a week to help keep his ear canal clear but with the heat and humidity will get little leisons in this ear and lobe which a short course of anti-biotics clears up.

Most of all he loves attention, pats, cuddles, silly chat etc... He needs owners who have "quality" time to spend with him and will be able to give him the treatment he needs. We have him as an inside/outside dog as he just loves just being near people. He is so adorable and would make some one the best companion. He not so good with kids as he forgets his strength and size when playing which has lead to some bumps and bruises. “
